Dugdale Bros & Co. is the last remaining independently owned cloth merchant in Huddersfield. We’ve been making some of Britain’s finest fabrics in this historic Yorkshire mill town since 1896.

Since 1896, we’ve supported and championed generations of skilled local craftsmen and women. Our collections are designed in-house and manufactured within just ten miles of our historic headquarters on Northumberland Street — a proud tribute to our roots in Huddersfield’s rich textile heritage.

We continue to embrace many of the same tried and tested techniques that have stood the test of time. Yet, as a forward-thinking company, we are equally committed to innovation — combining time-honoured skills with modern technologies to create cloth that is as luxurious as it is enduring.

All of our woollen cloths are processed in the UK by benchmark companies and work in compliance with the British Standard regulations. That’s why we only work with a select group of local manufacturers to weave, dye and finish our cloth.

We are an ethically and environmentally conscious company and our cloth is never over designed or overpriced. Our name stands for British luxury, quality and authenticity and we still proudly prosper in the place where it all began.

We believe that where things are made matters. By working exclusively with local experts in spinning, weaving and finishing we can control every element of our production process, ensuring key quality and sustainability standards are met, every time.
In the town of Huddersfield, many hands make light work. For centuries generations of spinners, weavers and finishers have combined to produce the world’s finest worsteds and woollens, here in the heart of cloth country. No one does it better.
We are proud to present our customers with a diverse range of formal cloths from original topped baratheas to super-fine summer kid mohair. We also have a wide selection of colourful vestings and original light and dark striped trouserings complemented by heritage herringbone, twill and grey picked coatings.
Every cloth in our wide ranging collection is unique. Whether it’s a handwoven special edition tweed, a lightweight linen or the finest mohair barathea, we know how to make it best.
